Saw Behemoth (with Devildriver, Trigger the Bloodshed, Suicide Silence and Malefice) last night.
Behemoth were epic as ****. Trigger got a really bad reception lulz, but their live sound is the best I've heard it (FINALLY SORTED OUT THEIR LIVE SOUND!) Suicide Silence, despite what anyone thinks about them are quite decent live. Their songs are alright but they sure know how to work a crowd. Malefice were decent, nothing amazing but good for what they are. Didnt take MUCH notice of Devildriver, mainly because I was exhausted after Behemoth and I find them ok but mediocre for a modern metal band.
Glad you had a good night Mattie. I was toying with the idea of going to the Nottingham date, but in the end I decided the ticket price was a little high considering I'd only really be interested in Behemoth.
Suicide Silence aren't actually that bad. I think I'd enjoy them more than Trigger the Bloodshed haha
I was speaking to the SS guitarist and bassist, them dudes actually know their death metal proper. They aint "posers" thats for sure. Even if they are a band that relies on "breakdowns" a fair share. But being a deathcore band is always going to divide opinion. Entertaining band thats for sure.
I wonder how Trigger will get received at the Cannibal Corpse shows. Hmmm.
Yeah, I know Alex from Cannibal Corpse thinks highly of Suicide Silence. I've only heard a few of their songs and while I don't really like them, I really don't hate them.
I would've thought Trigger would go down quite well with the Cannibal crowd, but I don't think I'll get to the Sheffield gig I was considering to go to. I don't have anyone to tag along with, and I don't know Sheffield. At all.
Yeah man, I'm sure they'll be touring Evisceration Plague (Which I still need to buy...) for another few months at least. Hopefully they'll play over here again before they break.
EDIT - To be honest there's still part of me who's tempted to go to that Sheffield show...

You're going to love it mate. They were absulutely stunning last night in Nottingham. Proscriptor was REALLY excited about the first show ever in the UK, and it really came across in his playing. He's intense. I've never seen anyone drum like that live, while also doing lead vocals. He's the ****ing man.
The set was great, they didn't play Amy from the new album (which I was really hoping they would) but I can't complain, the new songs they did play were amazing. I got the opportunity to speak to Proscriptor briefly and I told him that Absu was undoubtedly the album of the year for me. (He was very happy about that haha)
I did indeed love it, brilliant gig! I also ended up talking to Proscriptor (when I bought my tour shirt) though I didn't realise it was him at the time!
There were a few "celebrities" there last night actually, the comedian Steve Hughes (who used to be in Slaughter Lord and Mortal Sin) was there and that "Satanic Slut" bint who shagged Russell Brand was there too.
I went to school with the prats in After Death. They are a horrendous band, complete tripe. In no way are they suitable to play with Master. I hope the good people of South America do the honourable thing and murderlise them. Seriously listen to them, this is a ****ing disgrace. I might have to have a quiet qord in old Specker's shell, like.
They will have bought themselves onto the tour, that's how Speckmann keeps Master touring. Not enough people go to their shows to pay for their touring so there's always at least 2 buy-ons to open the gigs.
They have no clue who Master are. It must have been their label's doing. After Death are so piss poor that its actually funny. And the saddest thing is they've been together about 5 or 6 years.
Going to see H.O.D. on Thursday and it's Blacker Than Night on Sunday which should be fun. Really looking forward to the Dio gig at the end of the month too
The Mastodon/Dethklok gig was a blast...although the first two bands sucked ass and the hubby almost got into a fight. My husband said we have a rule now if we go to the House of Blues for a show, we're always going late unless it's a friend's band that's opening, because the first band is always touch and go...and the second will inevitably, epically suck.
